A bank robbery occurred today, September 14, at Preferred Bank on the corner of Worcester Street and Stuebner Airline Drive, across from Klein High School. The schools in the vicinity of the bank, Klein High, Mittelstädt Elementary, Kleb Intermediate, and the Klein Annex, went on lockdown at 2:13p.m. the lockdown ended at 2:35p.m. based on a recommendation from the Sheriff’s Department. The KISD police department worked in relationship with the Sheriff’s Department.   

It has been reported that one officer was wounded but is in stable condition. One of the suspects was wounded and is currently hospitalized. Two other suspects are still on the run.
