Students Can Earn Money for Taking Their GED Practice Test
Students can earn money for taking a GED Practice Testing through Pearson VUE Testing Network at Lone Star College-Tomball
Lone Star College-Tomball has been chosen
by Pearson VUEfree GED practice test.
The primary goal of the pilot is to determine equivalency of
computer-based tests and paper-based testing scores.
LSC-Tomball’s Testing Center will also begin to understand how
test-takers respond to technology in real time; how the process of
registration can be made easier for test-takers; and how quicker access
to reliable data and reporting can benefit the jurisdictions, the
test-taker, and the testing center.
During this limited time pilot, students who complete the GED Online
Practice Test, which mimics the pencil and paper test, for free before
they complete the official GED test will be compensated for their time
from PearsonVUE and Texas
Education Agency.
Test-takers can earn approximately $100 depending on how well they do on
the test. Test-takers with any level of computer experience are
encouraged to participate. The computer testing system was designed for
those with even minimal computer, typing or keyboarding skills.
The GED test gives one the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency diploma, a
credential recognized as a key to employment opportunities, as well as
to opportunities to further one’s education.
